Playing tourists in Madrid

We slept in till 10 !!! arrggghh!

We still had ample time to play tourists in Madrid. Our hotel (Hotel Convenćion) is about half hr walk to the centre of Madrid … so we walked … whats 30 minutes when you’ve done the camino? lol

When in Madrid one must do what most madrids and tourists do…. visit the famous Mercado de san Miguel, a food lover’s paradise offering the many different culinary delights of Spain. Here you can shop, eat and drink … savoury and sweet … wines, beers and sangrias … even oysters and champagne. The atmosphere is vibrant … it is upmarket so not cheap but the experience is well worth it with all the temptations (sight taste smell) it has to offer.

We had a break from the markets at a very small local bar contemplating the rest of the day over a mojito …or 2!

Another trip to San Miguel for an afternoon snack before we head to the Las Cabeneras for dinner and flamenco dancing.
