Camino Day 22: Melide to Salceda

A red sky morning to start the day …

We set the alarm to getaway early this morning (after one of the worst nights sleeps for our whole adventure) and were out on the Camino once again before the sun was up at 7.30 am so we could make the most of the weather as the following two days have rain predicted (we have been extremely fortunate to have had almost no rain fall during our walking hours for our entire Camino) … we pushed hard today and made it to Salceda … but at the expense of Faiza’s feet which she can now barely walk on …
Today we walked up into forests and through corn fields and down into villages and hamlets. A pretty walk, although hard climbing at some stages.
Another private room at Pension Casquairo II tonite…hopefully it will be a better nites sleep for us!

We now have less than 30 km to Santiago, which some would tackle in one long day but we will split in two …

Our Compostela is so close we can almost feel it …
