Yorkshire

Another wet morning in Edinburgh luckily not too cold tho. Wheeling our luggage to Haymarket station in the rain was fun! Lol well maybe not but we did it anyway to catch train to Edinburgh to catch the train to York. We were a bit early for this train (thanks to Faiza who doesn’t allow sleeping in) so we had to entertain ourselves for almost 2 hrs before we can hop on the train. A bit of Riverdance here and there. Busking (Faiza sang while Steve danced….didn’t make any money but it killed the time ).
A comfortable 2.5 hrs train trip to York.

Walked around York for a couple hrs.

Discovered that the food and wine festival was on…. Lots of “sampling” of delicious products. Steve also scored a free gluten free cook book.

Late start to the day after having to lookup and RTFM for the washing machine/dryer …

Strolled down to our closest train station (Haymarket) to pick up our tickets for tomorrow to our next destination … York

We then hopped the next train in to Edinburgh (where they want to charge you 30 pence to pee … so we walked to the next free toilets with our legs crossed) … with the intention of walking to and around the botanical gardens however with the grey sky and constant drizzle set to stay …

We changed plans and headed to The National Museum of Edinburgh instead … with a quick photo at the Cafe in which Harry Potter was born …
(also the cemetery that was part of the ghost tour last night was a place that J.K. Rowling got a few of her character names from).

O we’ll tak’ the high road, and You’ll tak’ the low (road)
And We’ll be in Scotlan’ afore ye…

Oh what a glorious sunny HOT morning …..after a quick brisk morning walk and some breakfast it was time to bid farewell to Killarney.

So sad to say goodbye to Killarney .. Such a nice place … But we had to make our way to the next leg of our adventure… A flight from Cork airport to Edinburgh. Drove through Cork enroute to the airport. Not much to see and not much open as it is a Sunday … Cork was much cooler than Killarney

The flight on aer lingus (no comments please) was quick and smooth despite it being a small plane.

The 100 bus from the airport took us to Haymarket where we will be spending the next 3 nights. When we saw the apartment we thought WOW!!!

We then got some groceries from Tesco for our dinners etc for next few nights.
