Lecco to Treviso

Dragging a suitcase from A to B, no matter how easy the wheels glide, is not made for Italy. The cobblestone streets and uneven pavements made the journey to the station from hotel quite difficult with the suitcases…tickets bought and on the right train..we made our way to Milan.

It’s such a shame they don’t have quiet carriages on italian trains. A passenger shared her conversation on the phone in a louder than normal voice, all the way from Lecco to Milan… we wish she was just talking with her hands like a normal Italian … what a headache!!!

Arriving at a different Milan train station than the one we originally caught the train from was confusing.. with broken Italian and hand gestures we hopped on a second train line to Milan Central station to collect our car. It was fortunate the car was automatic..saves trying to focus on gears AND driving on right side..even better that it had Sat Nav..but best of all it was an Audi!!! Better than the Jeep that was booked for us.. phew!!

It didn’t take Steve much time at all to get into the hang of driving on the right side of the road …so off we set to Verona to check out the sites and see Juliettes balcony..the balcony that inspired Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliette.
