The weather Gods were on our side today as bad weather was predicted for Milan but it turned out to be quite nice..
After a nice breakfast which reminded Faiza of home (Egypt) we set off early to see a bit of Milan before heading to Lecco.
A quick visit to the Duomo, with its impressive architecture.

Steven felt a need to confess his sins … we’re going to be here all day for this!!

Confession time..
Following confession we went for a quick stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel for some serious window shopping.

Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel

A quick Taxi ride to Stazione Centrali to make our way to Lecco. Finding which platform to Lecco was confusing as there were no staff to help and couldn’t see the destination on notice boards. With only minutes to spare, we took a chance on a non English speaking bystander’s advice and went to platform 7, all the while praying it was the right train!

Stazione Centrale Milano

A smile of relief ..we’re on the right train!
It was only after the train started moving and the destinations showed up on the screen that we felt at ease ..3rd stop Lecco!
Great scenery as approaching Lecco
Teziano, (pronounced Titsiano), our friendly and informative host, met us at the B&B. A very basic accommodation with an ancient elevator that is slower than walking up the 3 flights of stairs.
The European markets were on with great street foods and other goodies.
